Meiji University will hold two unique short-term programs (in English) for international students in summer 2019 — Cool Japan Summer Program and Law in Japan.

COOL JAPAN SUMMER PROGRAM

This is a 12-day program, comprised of a series of lectures, field trips and workshops on a wide variety of subjects relating to Japan’s contemporary images as well as its traditional culture.
English will be used throughout the course, so Japanese Language ability is not required.
For 2019, we will be travelling to Nikko (Tochigi prefecture) and visit one of the Shrines and Temples of Nikko (UNESCO World Heritage) to experience nature and the traditional aspects of Japan outside the city for two days!

2. Must be 18+ years old as of July 19, 2019.
3. Must be able to attend courses and give presentations in English, and submit an assignment paper after the program.
4. Must attend all of the program activities from July 19 (Fri) to July 30 (Tue), 2019.

This intensive two-week program is designed for foreign nationals who would like to study Japanese law in its social and cultural context. The program consists of lectures and field trips. Each lecture will present a number of important contemporary issues for discussion. Participants will also have opportunities to learn the Japanese society and legal institutions through the field trips. We welcome applications from both law and non-law backgrounds. No previous knowledge of Japanese Law/Language is required to participate in this program.
